AION Symphony
'Aion' is the description for the Christian time period, which is ended with the appearance of the Antichrist.
"It was actually intended to be a musical theatre, however it evolved into a chamber symphony containing a dramatic dialog, which is based upon Dostojewskij's 'The great inquisitor."
Its four prosecutors of Christ (Cardinal, Politics, Protestant, and Alchemy) equal musical characters and themes in the composition. For example: the Cardinal's interval is a Fifth, his character equals Gregorian Chants and his themes are Phrygian (miracle), Dorian (secret), Lydian (authority), and mixolydian (knowledge). When themes that symbolize the Cardinal enter the area of politics, they transform from Fifth-intervals into Thirds. Though in the area of alchemy they transform into dualism, showing a Forth. In the area of the protestant, they become puritanically serial. Therefore, every single one of the prosecutors of Christ has his own character and theme.
Premiered in Orvieto, Italy.
